Government funding has been made available by President Barack Obama to go towards the cause of sending mothers back to school. These women have had to put their own lives aside to raise their families, but it is now time to put education on the front line. Pell grants and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants are being awarded. The grants are helpful because they do not have to be paid back like a student loan, which rids the mom of stress about a tight budget.

Another perk of the program is that the moms can earn their degrees online, which takes care of another big concern ? lack of time. Studying online frees up time and allows the mom to be with her family as she earns her diploma. Sometimes it seems best to put education off because it seems like a selfish thing to do, but it will be better in the long run. The mom will be getting skills that will make her a better candidate for a higher-paying job, and she will be able to bring in more money to support the family. Your children will thank you for it and will hopefully do the same for themselves when it is time to decide on higher education.

The Federal Pell Grant has increased since Obama took office, and is now more than $4,500. Not all mothers will qualify for this grant because it is based on need. Rest assured if that is the case because there are many other grants to apply for, some of which are earmarked specifically for moms wanting to further their education to find a career path.
